Trey's First Haircut

Although if it was up to me Trey would never have gotten a haircut as I loved his curls in the back, it became clear that his hair was approaching the mullet stage. We took him for his first haircut at the kids haircutting place in International Mall and by the end I was almost in tears because the curls were gone. On the positive side, Trey was a real trooper and did not mind the haircut at all.

The before picture

The during - Trey loved being able to sit in the car

The end

The finished product - he was so proud of himself

For being such a good boy Trey got to go to Build a Bear and make his own bear.
Meet Timmy T-Bear, Trey's new friend.

What a perfect way to capture the difficulty of parenting - the bittersweetness of them growing up, whether it's cutting off curls, or going to school, or (I imagine) moving out on their own, we moms shed a lot of tears for the growing pains! But, at the same time, isn't it just glorious to have a part in their growth? It's the hardest and best job we'll ever have!
