Week Two in the Life of Trey

It is so hard to believe that Trey is already two weeks old. We spent our second week still in awe of our son. After waiting so long to meet him, I could just stare at him for hours. We are working on getting a routine down which currently consists mostly of eating and sleeping but as each day passes, Trey spends more time awake and alert, investigating the world around him.

This is how we look in our swing - it puts us to sleep almost instantly and lets Mom take a shower and get some chores done.

On Tuesday of last week, Trey met one of our high school friends, Jen Page (now Foster) and her husband Chris - Jen and Chris have three girls and I am thinking after meeting Trey, perhaps Jen will convince Chris they need to try for a fourth :o)

I just cannot take enough pictures of Trey sleeping as he looks so adorable.

Thanks to Nana who took care of me so that I could take care of Trey after my C-section - we would have been lost without her.

Trey loves sitting up with the assistance of Mom and Dad so that he can check out everything around him. His adorable gator outfit came from the Ferris'.

Day Eight in the Life of Trey - June 15, 2008

Today is Trey's one week birthday and Jimmy's first father's day. How cool that I could wake up this morning to my beatiful baby boy and get to wish my husband a happy father's day!

Trey's first Tummy Time

Trey's Aunt Wendy came to visit him again today - he stayed awake for almost her entire visit

Of course after Aunt Wendy's visit we passed out. This is perhaps my favorite time of the day is Trey and I's nap time - he looks so peaceful

Nana and Papa Steve came up for dinner and here is a picture of the Dad's on Father's Day

Day Seven in the Life of Trey - June 14, 2008

Today Eric and Allison came to visit Trey and we had a great time just hanging out and taking it easy.

My first time in my activity gym - I loved the lights and sounds.
Thank you to Uncle Rory, Aunt Kim and Cousin Dylan for recommending this gym as it will bring hours of fun.

Posing with my Daddy in my baseball outfit. Thank you to cousins Logan and Justin for picking it out for me.

Day Six in the Life of Trey - June 13, 2008

Today was a busy day for Trey as today was his first doctors visit and therefore his first trip out of the house.

My first swing ride - I loved every minute of it (as proven by the fact that I slept the whole time)
Thank you to Tammy and Scott for giving it to me

Look at that face - How are Mom and Dad ever going to say no to me?

Getting ready for my doctors visit

At the doctors - as you can see I did not like that. In fact I loved it so much that I peed all over the nurse who was checking my stats. Good thing she had a good sense of humor and was able to laugh about it.
Weight - 8 pounds, 11 ounces (75th percentile)
Height - 21.5 inches (95th percentile)

Sleeping with Daddy - I was wiped out after my doctors visit

Wearing my Daddy's First Mate Outfit

Hanging with Mom (Dad was playing with the black and white settings on the camera)

The Family

Day Five in the Life of Trey - June 12, 2008

Today was my first full day at home and how nice that was. Mom and Dad have determined that they are very lucky parents as I am a very content baby. The only time that I cry is when I am hungry or when I am getting my diaper changed. I am a very strong little boy and I have been able to hold my head up for a few seconds since birth. My legs are very strong and if I do not want you to move them you are going to have a hard time moving them. I get the hiccups all the time and I have a very loud, but very cute, sneeze.

After my first sponge bath - I was not a big fan of that

I have a huge yawn but it is so cute!!

I love my boppy lounger!
It is super comfortable and it allows me to look around and check things out.

Chris, Courtney and Finley came to visit me.
Daddy is already trying to arrange my marriage to Finley.

Day Four in the Life of Trey - June 11, 2008

GOING HOME DAY!!! After Mom and Trey received oks from the doctors it was time to go home. Words cannot express how exciting it was to bring home our baby boy for the first time!

My Going Home Outfit (of course it has gators on it)

Check out my Hat - I am styling!!

My first car ride - I am not sure what I thought about it

Our new family at home for the first time

Trey is one lucky boy and so many people sent him flowers and gifts - Trey and Mom and Dad loved all of them and are so thankful to have such wonderful friends in our lives

Day Three in the Life of Trey - June 10, 2008

By Tuesday, all we wanted was to be able to go home from the hospital as we were all getting uncomfortable. Luckily we had visitors to keep us company and to help pass the time.

All dressed up in my pirate outfit and ready for visitors

Chris, Erika and Isabelle drove all the way from Bradenton to see Trey and we were so happy to be able to see them and to introduce the future friends as we are sure Isabelle will show Trey the ropes in a few short months

Mommy never gets tired of watching me sleep

Day Two in the Life of Trey - June 9, 2008

Monday was a busy day for Trey as he had his first check-up with the pediatrician and he also had surgery on his boy parts. The pediatrician said that Trey was just perfect and that everything looks great. Trey was not a happy camper after his surgery but Mom was proud of him as he was a very brave boy.

Trey also had a lot of visitors on Monday, Ellen, Amanda, Megan O, Nana and Papa Steve, and Grandma and Aunt Wendy.

Doesn't my Dad look happy?

Day One in the Life of Trey - June 8, 2008

Jimmy already posted some of the very first pictures of Trey and the vital stats. Trey's arrival was an emotional time for all of us as labor lasted a total of 52 hours and Trey ended up having to be born by emergency c-section because of his heart rate dropping and my failure to progress any further in labor (which was due to the fact that Trey was too large for his Mom it seems). As most everyone knows I had really wanted a natural birth but in the end all that mattered was healthy baby and healthy Mom and that was the end result. So after many hours and many ups and downs, Trey arrived on June 8, 2008 at 3:30 p.m.

Getting my vitals checked - I also had my first bath, etc. but those pictures are on my grandparent's cameras

Mom and Dad's Little Sweet Pea -
I scratched my face all up because my nails are so long.

The Last of the Baby Belly

Well things have finally calmed down somewhat and so there will be a ton of posts all at once to catch everyone up on the last week. I thought I would post the last picture of my baby belly before Trey's arrival. Looking at this now and knowing how big Trey was it is amazing that he fit in there :o)

Our First Family Picture

Meg was being patched up from her experience with the jaws of life but we were still able to squeeze in a picture before they had to take Trey back to the nursery for more testing (and first bath) :)

Mom And Baby

This is mom's first time with the baby. He had a little swelling on his nose and forehead from the labor process but he was very alert and was looking at everything. He went from screaming like crazy to dead silent right after they put him on her chest. That... was awesome.

My First Picture

This was the first picture of Trey. Right after they removed him from Megan's baby belly they paused by the bed to let us see him and take a quick pick before they checked the essential vitals.

The doctors we're pretty funny as they made a couple comments while getting him out.

The first was "look at those chubby cheeks"...

The second was "Hey Bubba" which they continued to call him until he was prepped and ready to go.

Then they weighed him...

Official Fighting Weight: 8lbs 13 and 3/4ths ounces.
Official Length: 21 and 1/2 inches long.

Then the comment came out... "No wonder he wouldn't go out the other way" :)

And The Answer Is: "The Jaws Of Life"

Trey Was born yesterday (6-8-08) via C Section at 3:30pm in the afternoon

Well... the whole labor and delivery process went a little different than we had hoped (okay... a lot different) but mom and baby are doing WONDERFUL.

We will be here (St. Josephs Womens Hospital... and no "I" don't have an appointment) in room 212 until Wednesday afternoon (fingers crossed).

Pictures of "Hercules" will be coming very very soon (like in a few hrs).

Jimmy :)

Nesting

Well like all pregnant women I too got the urge to clean the house from top to bottom and to start all kinds of household projects. In addition to the nursery, we also decided to paint Jimmy's office and to paint the breakfast nook. Below are pictures (except for the kitchen which right now is full of baby stuff waiting for Trey's arrival :o))

The nursery from the doorway - as you can see we went with a pirate theme

The changing table
The rocker/recliner and crib
Yes the office is painted the official Gator Orange and Blue - we love it!!

38 Weeks

This is me at 38 weeks. On Saturday the 24th I went to Robin's shower in Bradenton. She is due with a little girl on July 25. This is Courtney, Finley, Robin, Cara and I.
